Terms of Service for u the goat

These terms explain the use of the u the goat iPhone app, its widgets and curated content. The app offers motivational posts, locally saved favourites and optional sharing. Please read these terms alongside the app's Privacy Policy.

The developer and app licence

The developer is Zero Intelligence Ltd. "We", "us" and "our" refer to that company. Contact us at hello@zero-intelligence.com.

The app is licensed under Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement unless a different app licence is expressly provided through the App Store. These service terms explain our content and service and do not replace Apple's standard app licence. Applicable App Store usage rules also apply.

Access and charges

The current app is free to use and does not include subscriptions or in-app purchases. Your internet, mobile-network or device-provider charges may still apply. Any future paid feature would be explained separately before you choose to purchase it.

You need a compatible device and supported iOS version. New feed content and daily-widget updates require access to the internet and Apple's services. You do not need to create a separate u the goat account. Installation and use of Apple's services remain subject to Apple's own requirements.

If you are not old enough to enter an agreement under the laws that apply to you, a parent or guardian should review the terms and authorise your use. Nothing here removes protections that apply to children or consumers.

Favourites and your device

Your favourites are stored locally and shared with the app's widgets on the same device. The app does not provide its own account backup or synchronise favourites across your devices.

You can remove an individual saved post or clear the library in Settings. You can stop using the app at any time. Deleting the app may remove its saved data; iOS offloading and Apple device backups can behave differently. We cannot recover a favourite library that we do not hold. Consider your device backup settings if keeping saved posts is important to you.

Permitted use

You may use the app for personal purposes and use its provided sharing feature to share posts, subject to applicable law and the rights in that content. The app does not give you ownership of its software, branding or artwork.

Do not misuse the app or its services, interfere with their operation, bypass security controls, introduce malicious code, or access data you are not authorised to access. Do not use the app or shared content for unlawful purposes. Restrictions apply only to the extent permitted by law and do not remove lawful exceptions or rights under the app licence.

Content and intellectual property

Rights in the app's software, branding, words and images belong to us or their respective rights holders where those rights apply. Keep any attribution or rights notices that accompany shared content. The sharing feature does not grant a general right to commercially republish, resell or redistribute the content.

Motivational content is provided for general inspiration. It is not personalised professional advice or a promise that you will achieve a particular result. Use your judgment and seek qualified advice where a decision requires it.

If you believe content infringes your rights, email us with enough information to identify the post and explain the concern. We will review the report and take appropriate action.

Third-party services and sharing

The app uses Apple services, including CloudKit, to provide the public feed. Your chosen email app, sharing apps, recipients and linked websites may have their own terms and privacy practices.

You choose what to share and where to send it. Once a post is passed to another service or person, their handling of that copy is outside the app's local favourite controls. Any responsibility we have under mandatory law remains unaffected.

Availability and changes to the service

We take reasonable steps to maintain the app, but internet services can be interrupted by maintenance, technical problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We do not promise an uninterrupted feed or a new post at a particular time every day. Widget updates also depend on iOS scheduling and device conditions.

We may update the app, correct or withdraw posts, change features or discontinue a service for a reasonable operational, legal or security reason. Where a change materially affects users, we will give appropriate notice where practicable and required by law. Keep the app updated to receive fixes and improvements.

Responsibility and consumer rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your mandatory consumer rights remain available.

Where we breach an obligation we owe you, responsibility for resulting loss is determined by the applicable law. Subject to that law, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable or for business losses arising from use of an app intended for personal purposes.

Any statutory remedies for damage to your device or other digital content remain unaffected. The app licence may contain additional provisions, subject to the same mandatory legal protections.

Changes to these terms and disputes

We may revise these terms to reflect changes to the app, the law or our service. We will publish the updated terms with a revised date and provide additional notice or seek agreement where required. Changes do not remove rights that arose before they took effect. If you do not wish to use the revised service, you may stop using it.

Contact us if you have a concern so we can try to resolve it. These terms do not require compulsory arbitration or prevent you from contacting a regulator or using courts available to you under applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence continue to apply.
